Questions concerning V-Beam and subcision

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on managing, treating, and correcting acne scarring. (Of note, Dr. Lam is focused principally on acne scarring rather than on managing the ongoing condition of acne, which a dermatologist would be better equipped to address.)

Questions concerning V-Beam and subcision

Postby AcnePwns » Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:29 pm

Hi doctor,
first of all, do you perform the VBeam laser? If so, is it a good or bad idea to pair it with subcision? from my understanding, Vbeam forces blood vessels deeper down the skin, away from the top layer of the skin. But is this blood vital when performing subcision?

Second, do you know if it is safe to perform Vbeam one week after a 35% glycolic acid peel?

Thank you in advance

although i do not perform V-Beam, i do perform KTP laser. both are equally good at working on redness. is it safe a week after glycolic peel? hard to say. if it were a very gentle glycolic then possibly yes. if it were aggressive, then no. my opinion (and it is just an opinion) v-beam/ktp or whatever light laser should not affect a subcision one way or another.
best,
