Reducing the Appearance of a Long Philtrum

Postby Amadeus5 » Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:52 pm

Dear Dr. Lam,

I've always been a bit self-conscious about the distance between my nose and my upper lip. I heard somewhere that the ideal length is 1.1mm, and the thought seems to have become stuck in my head. After reading your other posts, I certainly wouldn't want to do a lip lift, but I'm wondering if there are any alternatives of which you are aware for minimizing the appearance of a long philtrum.

hi,
thanks for posting. i am glad you are opposed to a lip lift like me. the answer is unfortunately no. i do not believe there is a safe alternative in your case. sorry about that.
best,
sml

Thanks Dr. Lam. I appreciate your honesty. I guess I'll have to learn to accept it as part of my unique look. Thanks again.
