Sleep Lines

Postby CandyElaine » Fri Jan 15, 2010 9:13 pm

I am one of those unfortunate people who have sleep lines under my eyes. As I get older I am noticing that sleeping on my side is causing even more lines than I can imagine. I have read from other forums that most vertical lines on a persons face are caused from scrunching up your face by sleeping on your side or stomach and pressing your face into the pillow or the bed with some sun damage and or aging as a contributing factor. Either way sleeping on my side does cause these lines and I have proven this by using frownies ( paper or tape to hold the skin in place - http://www.frownies.com) as I sleep since I wake up with 'less' prominent lines - though this is not a perfect solution.
What is your advice on how to get rid of these? Perhaps you have heard of a way to train a person to sleep on their back? Is this a result of FAT loss?? Or is it a collagen issue only ?

Thanks in advance for your answer and I want to say that you are outstanding compared to the other doctors that I have been to and I appreciate and enjoy your videos. :)

thanks! i don't really know how to advise you. i don't have any experience with frownies, etc. here are my thoughts to minimize lines:
1. hydrate and eat a good, organic healthy diet. eat in moderation.
2. stay out of the sun.
3. use good skin care products.
4. botox (in areas that you can)
5. facials
6. good vitamin diet like high vitamin c.
sorry, that is about all i know. i am sure sleeping does that. i sleep on my face and have no lines at 41 but i don't know if being asian helps. however, i try to keep healthy.
best,
sml
