Fat for lower cheek

Postby silveus5 » Mon Jan 11, 2010 7:37 pm

Dear Dr. Lam,
Thank you for all the great information on your website. I am 55, and have always been on the thin and athletic side. I have high cheekbones, which have been recently plumped up a bit with Radiesse. What I'm concerned about is the area below my cheekbones and around my mouth. It it sagging and losing volume. Can fat be transferred to the lower part of the face? Also, do you recommend fat transfer around the eye area, where I'm also getting quite a few lines? Thanks very much,
S.S.

Hi,
I've reviewed your photos and you are an excellent candidate for fat transfer. I would just stop the Radiesse as soon as possible so it does not further interfere with my future work. Although the cheeks are the greatest area to do when you do them in isolation, they can well for a lack of better word, look cheeky without other areas of the face blended in. Yes, you would truly benefit from fat transfer around the eyes (not for wrinkles obviously but for hollowness), in the anterior and outer cheek (i would have to see you not smiling), the area below the cheek that you are referring to (buccal area) and chin area too (which is hard to see in that photo but almost everyone can benefit from that as well). hope that helps.
best,
