Hi Dr Lam.
I have had two rounds of microdroplet silicone for acne scars on my temples with my local derm. Its been about 5 months since my last treatment and the results so far are minimal if any . I was wondering if in your opinion i should continue with silicone injections in hope of better improvement in the future? Or could I possible be someone who just wont respond to silicone treatments no matter how many are done. Thanks for your advice

obviously since i don't know your condition, how your derm did it, etc., i can't truly comment. however, not all acne scars are treatable with silicone. in my hands, i usually tell a patient that don't expect to see any results after one, expect to see results after 2 (but not in every case), 3 in many cases should get even better results (but may not be necessary in many cases), 4 and 5 rounds are times of diminishing returns. in temples, i tend to only go a couple of rounds because the skin is so thin there that a lot of rounds can create too much bulk. again, i have no idea about your scars or your treatments. that is something you should ask your derm about.

Thanks for your reply. I have shallow rolling scars on my temples and was told i would be a good candidate for silicone. I think my derm has been doing particularly conservative treatments and that is why i havent seen any results so far . At least that's what i'm hoping.
