Hi Dr. Lam,
I have an irregular request. I have genetically bulky leg muscles - especially my inner thighs. Would you be willing to inject botox in them for muscle reduction? I intially consulted and planned to go to a doctor in LA but your office is so much closer (as I am in Austin!) I realize this is typically performed on just jaws and calves, but I am desperate to reduce the size of my inner thigh muscles, and would trust you to inject them. I can send photos if helpful. (Please forgive my double email; I wrote you via your website comment tool earlier, but I noticed you were on this forum just a couple hours ago so thought I'd try you here.) that is an interesting request. unfortunately, i do not botox leg muscles. i have no experience doing so. hope you find the right physician for you.

I knew that in Southern Asia and Korea it is rather common to use botox reduce the size of calves. But it is not something i heard of as a procedure done in the US nor South America nor Europe. So I assumed it was an unconventional and rather risky use for botox. But this question that was made to you made me wonder if the procedure is more common than I thought and not dangerous.
Is it something worth doing? doesn't it require humongous amounts of botox? doesn't that imply risks? and when I say risks, I mean, a) risks out of the use of large doses of botox, but b) also the risks of making the muscles end up looking weird or having other muscles become larger because of trying to make up for the impossibility to use the parts of the calf that were "immobilized" by botox.

I've had Boxtox, actully 3 times....I have spasms in my left leg & foot...my left leg would go into a spasm it wouldn't let me bend at the knee..my leg would remain erect & it would take some time before the muscle would relax again...taking baclofen helped with the foot but i can only handle 15mg a day...it makes me very weak...so i tried Botox injection at the back of the leg muscle which is quite a big muscle....it worked really well,

this is really way out of my experience level. sorry.
