dissolving Radiesse

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

dissolving Radiesse

Postby lola » Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:26 pm

Can Radiesse be disolved ? I recall you indicating that Restylane and Jervaderm could (although I cannot remember what the name of the product that does the dissolving is)

I would like to continue to use Radiesse up until such time I can have a full fat procedure, and a week prior have it dissolved. Is that a realistic plan? What is the down side (assuming it can be dissolved)

Also, what is your position on sculptra - can it be removed or would it likely cause scare tissue based on how it works.

THX!

radiesse and sculptra cannot be dissolved. ideally i don't do a fat transfer on someone who has had radiesse or sculptra for many many years since they linger forever. i prefer restylane/juvederm if you plan to move to fat. however, if you have buckets in your face, i hate dissolving it down all the way because i never know if i got it all (that is for restylane/juvederm not radiesse/scultpra which cannot be managed). the best thing to do is to do one or two rounds of restylane if need be and then plan to go to fat when you can afford it.
best,
