Rounded Face

Postby jthomp5445 » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:56 am

Hi,

I am an in-shape white male who has a rounded face. Instead of having the sides of my face look like a straight line forming into my jawline, this area is instead rounded. The bone below my temples appears to be the widest point on my face. This creates a wider and almost over-weight look to my face even though I am not overweight. Without this wider area below my temples, I believe my jawline would look much more square and I do not believe anything else would need to be touched to give me the shape that I am looking for. I am wondering if there is some sort of procedure that you could perform on this or if you know of someone else who could? The shape of my face almost seems a bit more Asian then Caucasian, so maybe this is a common procedure in Asia? Thanks for any help you can provide.

i do not do bony remodeling procedures or suck fat out of people's faces just to get that out up front. there are surgeons who do that work. don't know if you are a candidate. the only thing that i do to narrow faces is botox to the masseter. watch that video on this website and take a look at the results. touch your outer jawbone and bite down. if it feels rock hard you are a candidate. is it permanent? not after one round, and i would hesitate to say that it would be even after a few although that is what some korean studies indicate. a chin implant in the right patient can help too but again don't know your situation. hope that helps as a start.
best,

Thanks for the reply,

As far as the jaw line botox, how far can the botox move up the side of the jaw line and how targeted can the procedure be? When I bite down, not only can I feel my bottom, or main, jaw-line muscles flex, but I also feel the jaw-line muscle that extends up the side of my face (to about the height of the bottom of my ear) ear flex. As a male, I like the squareness that my bottom jaw-line muscles create, but I do not like the wideness that this upper part of the jaw muscle may be creating. Is it possible to just target the upper part of the jaw muscle, without making the bottom part of the jawline less squared?

yes, but i do not perform functional masseter reductions. i only perform cosmetic facial narrowing. if you want functional masseter reduction, you should probably try to find someone who specializes in it. with my type of masseter reduction, i believe i get both very good cosmetic and functional improvements.
