continue- lip reduction

Postby vered » Mon Aug 10, 2009 2:04 pm

hello dr. lam!
i wanted to ask you about the 5FU, if i am interested in lip reduction, but i have a little bump on my lip, do you inject it, and then immediatly can do the lip reduction?
could you please specify about the fuction of 5FU? the time of influnce? and the difference between her function and steroids function?

i want to come to you for a lip reduction. ( i called today you, i can come to you only from november)
thank you

5-fu is for scar tissue from previous trauma or incisions. other than that, 5-fu is useless. i find 5-fu is a much safer alternative to steroids of any kind as steroids can create holes in the face. if you just have a natural bump on your lip, the best thing to do is to go straight to a lip reduction and try to remove the bump in the process. and, no, i cannot do 5-fu the same day. it sounds to me like you should go straight just for a lip reduction based on the above constraints.
best,
