lip reduction

Postby shane0515 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 8:07 pm

Hello,

Im highly considering getting a lip reduction on both lips and I had a few questions?

1. Is there anyway that we could do the both lip reduction for $3,500. I'm an independent
college student who's parents are deceased.

2. Is there anyway that you can do the lip reduction in one day and have me fly out back
to Los Angeles by the same day?

3. Is it possible to schedule a consultation and surgery on the same day? What days do
you do surgery? I'm a college student at USC and I really need to get back to Los Angeles
so I wont miss my classes.

4. Are there consultation/surgery dates open for September?

Thank you

YOU ARE NOT FAR FROM THE RIGHT PRICE ON THAT. JUST ASK MY STAFF TO GIVE YOU A QUOTE.

2. Is there anyway that you can do the lip reduction in one day and have me fly out back

YES.

3. Is it possible to schedule a consultation and surgery on the same day? What days do

YES. I DO LIP REDUCTIONS EVERY DAY. I DID THREE TODAY AND I HAVE ONE TOMORROW.
4. Are there consultation/surgery dates open for September?
I AM BOOKED UNTIL LATE OCTOBER BUT I MAY BE ABLE TO FIT YOU IN. JUST EMAIL CONSTANZE@LAMFACIALPLASTICS.COM.

Re: lip reduction

Hello Dr. Lam,

Would you recommend that I do a consultation with you online or send pictures before hand so that I can just fly into Dallas from Los Angeles so we can get the total procedure completed smoother in one day?

How much of the lip can you reduce to still keep it looking natural? I would like to reduce mine to a little more than half.

Since you use the dental dam and the patient is awake during surgery, is there a limit to how much of the lip you can reduce?

Would I need to fly back to Dallas so you can check the stitches or could I send pictures?

Thanks a lot for your wonderful help

Would you recommend that I do a consultation with you online or send pictures before hand so that I can just fly into Dallas from Los Angeles so we can get the total procedure completed smoother in one day? SENDING ME PHOTOS AS A PRIVATE MESSAGE (PM) HERE IS A GOOD WAY TO START. IF YOU LOOK LIKE A GOOD CANDIDATE THEN WE CAN FORMALIZE THE PLAN IN PERSON IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE PROCEDURE. SEND ME A PHOTO WITH MOUTH CLOSED, OPEN, AND SMILING. FRONTAL VIEW IS FINE.

How much of the lip can you reduce to still keep it looking natural? THAT IS A DIFFICULT QUESTION DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE LIP, THE RELATIVE SIZE OF THAT LIP WITH THE OTHER LIP, THE FACIAL SHAPE, THE SHAPE OF THE CUPID'S BOW, THE THICKNESS OF THE LIP, THE LENGTH OF THE UPPER WHITE LIP, ETC. I WAS DOING A LIP REDUCTION TODAY AND WAS EXPLAINING ALL THESE SUBTLE LIMITATIONS BASED SPECIFICALLY ON MY PATIENT''S ANATOMY. I WOULD HAVE TO SEE YOUR CASE. I would like to reduce mine to a little more than half.

Since you use the dental dam and the patient is awake during surgery, is there a limit to how much of the lip you can reduce? NO, IT IS BASED ON THE AESTHETIC LIMITATIONS ENUMERATED ABOVE.

Would I need to fly back to Dallas so you can check the stitches or could I send pictures? NO, PHOTOS ARE GOOD. SUTURES DISSOLVE AFTER A FEW DAYS TO A WEEK.

Thank you for your help Dr. Lam.

I will be sending the photos very soon. Just a couple questions:

Who should I send my photos to, by email?

Do the lips have to be a certain size for you to approve a lip reduction surgery?

Thank you

hi,
just try to send them here as a private message. if you can't, i'll give you my email address. no, there is no absolute lip size. i go more by lip shape, lip size, relative lip size to the other lip, and how the lips match the facial shape.

Hello Dr. Lam,

One of my main concerns was how the lip reduction would impact the smile. I don't want the lip reduction to make my gums show more above my teeth.

Will my smile look the same if I get lip reduction?

I just don't want a gummy looking smile.

Thank you

honestly, that may be a restriction on your doing it. yes, your smile can be more gummy. i would have to see you in person but if that is a major concern, don't have it done.
sorry,

Dr. Lam,
What is the risk of gummy(percentage)? I'm contemplating a upper and lower lip reduction. I love the shape of my lips but they are huge!! Please let me me know were I can send private photos for you to review. I called today to schedule an appt but you were booked for the month of December. I was hoping to get in this year, but I called too late. I will schedule an appt in January or February 2010. Are there any physicians on the West Coast who performs lip reductions similar to your procedure?

the risk of gummy smile is directly proportional to how much lip i reduce, how much the lip hangs, and how you move your lips. i would have to evaluate that in person to get a full read but a photo can be a start. send it as a private message with attachment to this forum. i don't really have anyone out in the West Coast that i know that can help. i have people fly in from across the world for me to do it. last week from london and rome.

Wow! It sounds like you stay pretty busy. I've read a few articles that mention the W incision in relation to lip reductions. Is this the latest type of incision for lip reductions?

absolutely no w incision. unnecessary, more scarring. when you get here you will see why you don't need that. it is easier to explain everything in person.
