silicone

Postby fory06 » Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:37 am

Hi Dr Lam

I still have not yet made my appt for silicone because I still have perlane in my cheek. It is a lump that donuted around my scar. I have been unsucessful trying to find someone to dissolve it. The Dr who injected it said to just wait because the dissolving agent could depress the surrounding tissue. Another PS stated something similar. I live in the upstate ny area. I know you trained in that area, could you recommend anyone to me? The Perlane has been there for almost 10 months, it may even be too late to have it dissolved - i don't know. I don't want to wait I've been told this product may persist in my cheek for 2 or more years due to the lump of the product. Any thoughts?

hmm, i don't have a firm recommendation for anyone. you are never too late to dissolve the product. you can have a temporary loss of collagen around the scar but i have never seen that being permanent. in other words, the hyaluruonidase can dissolve your own collagen but that is replenished typically within a few days to a week or so. obviously, no guarantees. i would put very little hyaluruonidase in there. start conservatively. just make sure you find someone with experience doing it because a little goes a long way.
