Relatively flat and wide face

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Relatively flat and wide face

Dr. Lam,

First of all i'd like to thank you for all your professional advice. I've read a lot of great things about your work and would like to get some personal advice from you.

I am an asian american male and have a relatively wide/flat face. I do not have much facial definition and would like to enhance my facial features. I was considering cheek and chin implant to enhance some of my features and provide it with better balance. I would like to make my face appear a bit longer with more definition. I would like to get your opinion about what surgery procedures one with my facial profile would benefit from.

Thanks in advance!

hi,
rhinoplasty, cheek and chin implants can be helpful to provide more structure to a young asian face. i would have to see your face to determine which of the above would help you the most. if you are over 35 years of age, then typically fat transfer is better for rejuvenation. but that is not a great option for someone younger than 29 or so because i would be dealing more with structure than fat loss. hope that is a good intro. sorry for the great delay in responding. have been out of town and out of country.
best,
sml
