Fat Migration

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Fat Migration

Postby Sillyme702 » Tue Jun 02, 2009 9:59 am

Hi Dr. Lam,

A couple of quick questions; 1. Does the fat graphing move or shift from original place of insertion? 2. How long can I expect great results after having recieved fat graphing? 3. Does the body absorb the fat tranfer? ( I am 45, in good shape, Norwegian/Dutch ethnicity) :D

Thank you for your time,

Kind regards,
K. Lovato

no, the microdroplet technique keeps it in position.

permanently minus aging. we all age over time but once the fat has good blood supply over the first year, it doesn't go anywhere. the idea fat goes away in the first year is due to either bad technique or a misunderstanding of how fat improves over time. look at my st. louis talk on this and my before and after evolution gallery on fat transfer over time. also, watch my video in my vlog section comparing hair transplant and fat grafting.
best,
