How Long Does It Last?

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Hi Dr. Lam. Really enjoy your videos. How long have you been doing your fat transfer procedures? Also, how long on average do results last? Thank you.

about 5 years. it is permanent minus aging is the best way to understand it. once the blood supply formalizes in 6 months to a year your result continues to improve over 2 years then you get slightly older after 2.5 to 3 years as you normally would.

Hi Dr Lam,
I thought that the effects of fat transfer were permanent. I understood that -after fat grafting- one's face would continue to age naturally and your transplanted fat would last as long as she/he lived. Are you saying that your fat will be resorbed after > 5 years?
Please elaborate on your answer.
