IPL......again?

Postby Isabella » Wed May 13, 2009 1:55 pm

I come to you with a rather interesting set of circustances. I had a nasal vein treated with IPL 4 years ago. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks after the treatment, but then the area that was treated began to become slowly more and more depressed with lines around it that seemed to indent. After visiting various laser specialists over the years to look at it, they concluded what had happend was likely a little bit of fat loss due to the ipl as the skin itself was not scarred. No big deal.

BUT.... in recent years, I have become unhappy with the amount of flat moles (they were diagnosed as that) on my face and would like to have them removed. I am told that a laser such as ipl or yag would be best suited for this, but of course I want to go to the best and that is of course you :D My concern is that because of my prior experience with IPL that I may be prone to fat loss and would hate to have what happend to my nose happen on 14 or so areas on my face where I have flat moles lasered. Are moles treated at the same depth as nasal veins? Is there less of a chance of encountering this problem in mole treatments? Should I be even seeking laser treatment at all or another method of removal?

the laser that i use is effective for freckles not moles. moles are hard to remove with a laser and require a deeper setting. also, anytime you remove a mole, you must check with your dermatologist to make sure it is not a suspicious one. i think fat loss with a mole removal most likely is unlikely but if you are worried do only one mole in an area that is not as cosmetically sensitive to try that out. my laser center # is 972-312-8189.
best,
