5fu for skin thickening

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

5fu for skin thickening

Postby usaccounts » Tue May 05, 2009 12:57 am

Hi Dr lam,

In general, how soon after cutting would you try to use 5-FU for your patients ?

I had radiofrequency ablation for some benign lesions on my nose and I'm noticing slightly raised borders of a small depressed area post 3 weeks of the ablation. I wonder if I should get 5-FU (or kenalog) for reducing the edges...is it too soon ?

Also do you think agressive microderm on the edges might help or even smoothing using a scalpel ?

Thanks.

this question seems unusual. generally, 5-FU can be started 3 to 4 weeks out but in your situation i don't understand it well enough to make any comments.
best,
