SOO BRUIZED & SWOLLEN post FAT GRAFT-HELP!

Postby charlan2 » Sun May 03, 2009 8:42 pm

Hello Doc,
Your site is a blessing.. I am into my third day post surgery (past Thursday) april 31st which consisted of a Smart Lipo (taking adipose tisue from my hip, thighs, "the love handles", and my dr. transferred this fat to my upper lateral cheeks and a little under the hollow sulken area under my eyes. I am originally of caribbean desent; and my father was half chinese, and his mother black west indian, therefore I have a natural slant in my eye and have a quarter of chinese. Puffiness under the eye is hereditary and common on my father's side. In addition to transferring that fat to give me awesome lateral cheekbones, and fill in hollowness under my eye, my doctor also did a lateral upper face lift, and lower facelift which simply pulled skin into and behind the tops of each earlobes..

Immediately after surgery, I looked stunning...You could no longer see any bags or creases; all of my skin seemed to be soo even and smooth whereby before that you could see a hump (bag) if I were viewed from the side.

Day One after surgery, I noticed that I am blowing up somwhat similar to that of a sumo chinese wrestler with very squinty eyes. There seems to be a pocket similar to water that is somewhat bulging and unsightly..My right eye was almost completly closed and seemed to be developing a red viens to the right of the eyeball. With more time I noticed that the undereye area is now a blueish black color which looks like I have been in a terrible fight.

I have been using the bag of frozen peas for 20 minutes then off an hour since I have been home. In addition my doctor told me to eat pineapple and use Arnica Montana gel and pill which dissolves under tongue. He gave me a dieretic to take (1 for 5 consecutive days) and I am sleeping with my head elevated. Does this sound alarming what has happen thus far, or is it normal
with fat graphing?? I am anxious to recover, but want to know if there are any suggestions, etc...

My Dr. said tht if the fluid does not go away in a couple of days thzt he would use a small needle to eject fluids??What do you think??

hi,
thank you for your questions. first, i cannot answer on behalf of another doctor in terms of what you should or should not do following a procedure. you must ask your doctor. second, your experiences will greatly differ from mine so please do not use my instructions or videos to apply to you. you should only use your doctor's words of advice and instructions. that is my policy that i have stated repeatedly on this site. please do not try to learn anything from my postop videos or instructions. they are only meant for my patients.
good luck with your recovery,
sml
