Buccal fat removal

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Buccal fat removal

Postby soba » Sun Apr 12, 2009 9:39 am

I am seriously considering buccal fat removal. I am 26 and have had a round face for most of my life. Since I turned about 23 I noticed my face got even fuller. I only wiegh abuot 120 and the only time my face look slimmer is when I get seriously underweight. When I do not smile, my face looks normal but when I smile I look like a chipmunk. Its bizzare how much the fat in my lower cheeks purtrudes out when I smile. So for this reason, I rarely smile and aviod pictures. Clearly its affecting my life if Im insecure to smile. Could I send you a picture of myself and possibly you coulod give me an honest opinion. Also do the entire buccal pads need to be removed or can just a part of it.

Thank you.

you are asking the wrong guy. i do not remove buccal fat, i put it in there. if you want buccal fat removed, you have 2 options:
1. wait 3 to 5 years, it will start to go away by itself. that is part of the aging process.
2. have another surgeon remove it. i don't. sorry about that.
best,
