Dr. Lam:

I have shallow rolling acne scars on my cheeks and 3 ice-pick scars on the left cheek. The 3 ice-pick scars I have had excised, but the scars still remain and depressed with minimal improvement. I have had 4 series of Artefill injections to all the scars with mininal improvement. The problem is, after the Artefill treatment, my scars look GREAT then 2 weeks later return to their depressed form. Is this normal?

The next question I have, How long would one wait after Aretill treatment, before they can get silicon injections? The last question I have is, Can scar tissue under ice-pick scars hold the scar down and prevent lifting from Artefill or silicon injections.

I fear that the edges of the ice-pick scars are being raised and the scars are appearing deeper. Have you seen this in practice, or at any seminars?

THAT IS SWELLING IT SOUNDS LIKE SO IT SOUNDS NORMAL BUT I DON'T INJECT ARTEFILL.

GENERALLY, I DO NOT FILL ICE PICK SCARS WITH SILICONE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK. WITH TINY ONES, I USE THE CROSS TECHNIQUE.
