Neck scar from removal of pre-cancerous area?

Postby esmerelda » Thu Apr 09, 2009 5:47 pm

This is a question from my husband. He recently had a pre-cancerous spot removed from the bottom of his neck area and when they sewed it up it created a lumpy scar. Is there anything that can be done, or anything YOU personally can do for this?

if it is thick and/or red, laser and 5-FU injections will work to help. if it is really bad, you might need scar revision. hopefully not. the laser works to reduce the redness ad thickness. the 5-FU reduces the scar without steroid. hope that helps.
best,
