Hey Dr. Lam,

1. I'm curious how long do results from silicone injections last ? Would I require to get it done every few months or year or so ? What if I'm losing a little weight during that time and a little bit of my facial fat is lost as well ? I might lose 10-15 lb to get in shape.

2. How much time would you wait between injections ?

3. Also, do you do TCA simultaneously with silicone ? I have several small depressions as well as multiple 1-2 mm in length shallow linear gashes.

PS: I just saw a picture of a gentleman you treated and the difference is amazing. Although, my scars are not this bad, want to congratulate you on that work. He is a good looking man. I would not be surprised if he has significant improvement in his quality of life.

IT IS DONE ONCE A MONTH (MINIMUM TIME). USUALLY REQUIRES 2 TO 4 SESSIONS. What if I'm losing a little weight during that time and a little bit of my facial fat is lost as well ? I might lose 10-15 lb to get in shape. GENERALLY, NO BIG DEAL.

TYPICALLY AFTER TO FIX THE SMALL HOLES. GASHES ARE HARD TO MANAGED IF THEY ARE LINEAR. MAY NEED SMALL DERMABRASION BUT AS A LAST STEP.

1. In the two pictures attached, I have marked in ovals, linear gashes that you treated with TCA and have got in my opinion very good correction. I'm wondering if this is what you mean by linear gashes...
Or maybe result like this one isn't that common...

2. On the right side of the face (top picture with a single oval), would you correct the depressed areas with further silicone treatments should the patient desire ?

Ok great.

Here's another picture (from a journal paper) of depressed scars being treated with silicone and lasting for atleast two years and with great correction.

I do have depressed scars on one side of the check similar to the picture---many, but of small sizes, that look ---bad--- in certain lighting (low daylight and bright glaring light). This treatment seems promising. I guess I should definitely fly down from san francisco.

Question 1: I had one subcision two months back and I followed up with two palomar 1540 sessions. I think it has helped a bit. I'm thinking of getting another subcision and then going for silicone/tca with you. Do you think it might be a good idea to forgo subcision and just go directly to tca/silicone ?

Question 2: In case of overcorrection or any other issue, is it possible to remove the silicone ? Or re-correct it.

my personal opinion is that subcision is a waste in most cases so you probably can just come down here and get started. no, you cannot remove silicone. fortunately, i have not had that situation.
