Radiesse on top of transplanted fat?

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Radiesse on top of transplanted fat?

Postby esmerelda » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:45 am

If I have fat grafting to an area, then months later get Radiesse over it:

1. Are they injected into the same "plane"? Meaning are they mixing together, and could this hurt the fat?

2. How long does Radiesse last around the mouth/chin area?

3. Will it be ok to add fat years later to a spot that has had Radiesse?

yes. and it should be fine. i just saw a lady 2 years out from radiesse that i did followed by fat 1.5 years ago and she looks awesome. there should not be a problem in general.

2. How long does Radiesse last around the mouth/chin area?
it lingers forever. even years out, there is some there but clinically most benefit will probably be gone within 6 months to a year with a small percentage lingering longer. everyone is different though. some last longer. some last shorter.

3. Will it be ok to add fat years later to a spot that has had Radiesse?
really think it is fine. see #1.

No I was just thanking you for answering my questions because it is such a good feeling to have something answered so promptly in the world of doctors....and you are a refreshing change.

Also I asked you what supplements do YOU take? That are good for skin and all around health.

oh, thanks! as far as supplements, i take fish oil. i also take a liquid vitamin supplement every day that i get from my anti-aging center. i can't remember the name: something max. but you should ask my anti-aging center (anti-aging and vitality center of dallas: they were the only center recommended by Suzanne Somers in her new book, Breakthrough) for details about different supplements that are good. i did take a lot at one point but got lazy taking all of them.
