Explanation of New Forum Changes

Dr. Lam at times updates major sections of this website and would like a forum to communicate those changes in a single location, hence this new section. He welcomes your feedback, input, and thoughts.

Explanation of New Forum Changes

Postby dr. lam » Tue Feb 03, 2009 8:20 pm

I always appreciate the intelligence, creativity, and work ethic of my webmaster Mike who actually decided to make these upgrades to the forum. I was a bit at a loss in understanding what he was trying to do so I asked him to explain it. Here's his explanation:

The "news" feature on the forum give a quick reference to the latest posts in a particular forum. Not only does it give you the title of the topic, but it gives you the beginning of the first post. This allows you to get a better idea of what the topic is about before clicking to go into it.

The "sitemap" feature shows you the list of the topics in a particular forum. It also shows you the last 15 active topics in all of the forums.

The "rss" feature on the forum allows you to subscribe to the forum using either your browser or an rss reader, giving you the latest updates from the forum. In most browsers, it will also list out the topic titles and the beginning of the first post as well for a quick reference.

These 3 functions combined are here to keep you informed of the latest topics in the Lam Facial Plastics forum.

If you guys have any feedback to the new forum format, I would appreciate it. There were some glitches for a day, and I apologize for that. Mike has straightened all of that out, now that we have fully transitioned to the new format.
best,
sml
