Coming to see you soon

Postby beyondmyeyes » Fri Jan 09, 2009 4:18 am

Hi Dr. Lam,

First, I will fly out there tomorrow to be lucky enough to have surgery done by you if it's true that your process rarely causes bruises? I am from Los Angeles and want to have a rhinoplasty rivision done with you as my first surgery caused 3 weeks of bruising under my eyes can that be avoided? Also, I attached a picture of myself as you can see my tip is now droopy looking kind of thick too. The second Important question I have is I am also wanting to have a brazillian butt lift through fat grafting. The problem is that I want it done both at once is there another doctor (assuming that you don't do it) that you can share the surgery room with that does good work on Brazilian butt lifts? I really would like you to perform my rhinoplasty but don't want to have to go into the surgery room again for the Brazilian butt lift (my own autoglus blood transfer just to confirm) Also, do you have a near by facility that can house someone for 3-5 days after your surgery since I would be coming in from another state?

Sincerely,

Nahee

hi,
although i rarely have bruising after rhinoplasty, i simply would hate to tell you that and then you have bruising. i do get bruising but very uncommonly. also, to determine what would benefit you most to correct your tip, i would have to see you in person especially because it is a revision procedure. unfortunately, i do not do body work and i do not have anyone accredited to work in my surgical facility at the same time. i would in any circumstance have a lot of fear that the delicate nose would be affected by your turning back and forth to get the butt procedure done at the same time. as far as facility for a nose procedure, you can just stay in a hotel. it is a relatively easy recovery. to find out hotels near my facility, go to my hospitality kit under "arrange travel". it is found on the top of every page after the "before" tab. also, my staff would help you find a hotel and give you more specific recommendations as you proceed. obviously, you would not need one for just the consultation.
best wishes,
sml

Rivision rhinoplasty, Open or closed? with or without packin

Postby beyondmyeyes » Sun Jan 11, 2009 11:54 pm

Hi Dr Lam,

Thank you kindly for your reply it was very informative what you stated about trying to have both surgeries at the same time makes a lot of sense. The last two questions I have is for rivisions for rhinoplasty can you perform them closed or must the surgery be done open? Last, do you use packing and if so how long do you keep it in so that travel arrangements can be done since people come in from out of town. Thank you in advance for all your assistance and replies you truly stand out from the rest making this experience of surgery so comfortable compared to other doctors by answering our questions in depth...

hi,
i'm glad that i can help. yes, i would have to do this open to have the best chance at getting this revision done well. in fact, i perform most of my noses open. my incisions heal very well. i almost never use packing so that should not be an issue. however, i like to take my own sutures out at 7 days so ideally i remove the splint and sutures at 7 days. obviously, your own physician can do that but most times physicians are very careless when it comes to suture removal and i am afraid of 2 things: pain during suture removal (which i do not give you) and hurting the incision due to aggressive suture removal.
best,
sml
