Happy New Year to the wonderful people at LFP and especially to Dr. Lam who had the discernment to put them all in one place.
Reading the wonderful blogs this week has put me in a reflective state of mind. I was thinking about the first visit I made to LFP. I have a strange habit of remembering extraneous detail-I recall what I wore that day and Dr. Lam I could tell you what you were wearing, maybe even Constanze!

Anyway, I sat in the waiting area for a bit, as I was early. I had the nicest feeling about the personality of your practice in general. Then I saw you behind the desk, taking brief calls and talking to patients. I thought: Well good, he looks very smart and like a kind guy, hands on, no prima donna.

Subsequent visits proved my instincts were true. On approximately the 5th visit (two years later) I recall telling Mrs. Carol that I'd come to realize you are not like anyone else I'd ever met. I've met a lot of people from virtually every walk of life (I have a lot of years, to borrow Spanish semantic, which I prefer to saying "old") and yet I knew I hadn't met someone like you. You're a true original, uncontrived (yuck-contrived is awful), and an all around great human being. Fwiw, that's one reason I am, perhaps, too much of a presence on this board--I want EVERYONE TO KNOW. There is a level of understanding, appreciating and enjoying LFP that one can only attain by experiencing the place. Importantly, it's a place for [u]everyone[/u].
