I'm always looking to improve my life, improve myself. For example I was absolutely useless with girls when I was a teenager. After my first long term girlfriend ditched me for a guy (can't blame her, his dad was the president of a big oil company in the US... won't say which one!) I was devastated. I then went out and found that I was spending many lonely nights alone, can't approach girls I was interested in.
But then I said it was an area I'd work on, and I did. I did whatever it took, and got out of my comfort zone. Things got a bit out of hand at some point with just too MANY girls, and then I even got sort of well known in the dating industry (there's a whole industry believe it or not, sort of like Hitch) before I decided to settle in my current relationship. But the fact that I admitted I wasn't good at this, and said I'll do whatever it takes to change - it also changed my life.
I also like reading alot of business/self improvement/psychology type books. I never thought I was a good writer, until starting my own blog and having people say so. I now write part time for an online blog, which gives me an income that allows me to at least pay the bill, rent and put food on the table, anywhere in the world (god knows why I'm still in England and not Hawaii or South America!!)
I think the message i want to send is that: you alwyas have to be working on yourself. People take the piss out of people that seem to get into the whole 'self help' genre - but IMO, these people are the kind of people I like the most. They are never stagnant, always moving, onwards, upwards, constantly striving to beat the system and have a better life.
