chin implant : permanency?

Postby miss08 » Mon Dec 10, 2007 8:22 am

Do chin implants last most people for a lifetime or do most get infected or erosion 10-20 years later?

If you receive an extended anatomic style that wraps around the lower jawbone, my honest opinion is that type of implant is for a lifetime. Of course, you could have it get infected but that usually occurs early on. Also, erosion in general is something that is not seen clinically but almost everyone has a little bit that is visible on an x-ray.

the extended anatomic style that you are referring to... are you talking about the chin implant with 'wings' that go on the sides of your chin ?
