One of Lakatos's major works was Criticism and the Growth of Knowledge. Like Kuhn, he is most cited in the social sciences for his work pertaining to the philosophy of science. In fact, he and some other scientists published a number of papers following a colloquium where they presented responses to Kuhn's book. Kuhn subsequently responded with "Notes on Lakatos" (PSA: Proceedings of the Biennial Meeting of the Philosophy of Science Association, Vol. 1970 , pp. 137-146). You can find it on JSTOR.
