I also have a question regarding botox resistence. I have been having injections for over 3 years now, with about 5 month intervals in between. My muscles are usually unable to contract the day after injections, but my muscles seem to be contracting just fine today after injections done yesterday, Could this be a sign of growing resistence? what could be another reason for delayed weakening of injected muscles? could the botox have missed thetargeted muscles? is it possible that i massaged the botox out of the desired muscle(i unintentionally massaged the area with my ice pack yesterday)? what do you do for patients that become resistent to botox A?
one day after botox to have no movement is bizarre. botox usually takes 3 days at the earliest with full effect 7 to 14 days after. resistance is unlikely in my opinion. sometimes (albeit rarely) the batch can be bad. i have had one batch this year that needed to be replaced. but one day out is crazy to be worried even if you usually notice changes. anything further, you need to ask your injector if i am not your injector. best, sml
