I am a 39 years old, white, male, Middle Eastern.
I had a wrong face-lift, to improve the appearance of my facial pimple scars, back in the Middle East when I was only 25 years old. The surgeon cut out the skins next to my side burns on both sides of my face. Ever since then, I did 5 scar revisions to improve the appearance of scars. After each scar revision the scars looked red for almost a year. Anyone could notice my scars from a distance of up to 10 yards. The length of the scar was 4" and the width was 1/4th of an inch!
My life was a hell until I was referred to Dr. Lam in March 2008. Dr Lam introduced me to a new concept to cover up my scars, the HAIR TRANSPLANT.
Honestly at first I had no hope in getting positive results because I heard from several doctors doing hair transplant in Dallas that hair transplant within scars usually fails because the scars are nothing but dead fibrous tissues.
I trusted Dr. Lam and the surgery was done in April 24th, 2008. Transplanted hairs taken off from the back my skull covered all of the scars. Amina and Dr. Lam did the procedure. Three weeks post surgery all of the hairs that were implanted shed off. Then I visited Dr. Lam and Amina. They both told me that the transplanted hairs normally shed off within 8 weeks post surgery before the new hairs start growing. So I waited a few more weeks, and the transplanted hairs began growing around June 10th, 2008. The transpanted hairs completely grew on the scar on the right side of my face by the first week of July 2008. The transpanted hairs completely grew on the scar on the left side of my face by September 20th, 2008.
I am not able to find the scars anymore on each side of my face even if I look closely in the mirror. I have usedmy video camera and zoomed into the scars but transplanted hairs covered them all up. There is no difference between my natural hairs and transplanted hairs within the scars!
I would like to thank Dr. Lam and Amina for giving me the opportunity to live as normal as possible among the people without being called Scar Face! I don't look like Al Pacino anyway:)
Dear Amina, I am very grateful, every single graft you put into my scars grew into multiple hairs. You are so wonderful.
Dear Dr. Lam, I am very grateful for the rest of my life. You are the most amazing doctor I have ever seen. You are part of my family. Speaking of humanity and professionalism, there is no other doctor in the world comparable to you, and if there are a few, you are the best among all. I pray to God to give you, your noble team, and your beloved mother a very long life and joy in every moment of your life.
