Over the last couple of years, I have become more environmentally aware. Ever since I've become a mom, I've looked at things in a totally new and different way. I am really into recycling and conserving things like water and electricity. I use those re-usable bags at the supermarket and we've replaced all our light bulbs with the compact fluorescent ones. Plus, I utilize tons of natural light in our house all day long - often times there are NO lights on at all. It's such an easy thing to do and really great knowing that we're not wasting. I don't know if it's feasible right now but I'd really love to put solar panels on our house, too! But, there are lots of other things that we do to reduce our waste and energy consumption. I believe that everyone can do something and every little bit helps. So, this is not a new passion for me, but it is something that I'm getting more and more passionate about every day. I'm even going to start a blog about ways to be "green"! Dr. Lam has inspired me!!

P.S. I found a really neat place online that has "green" tips - from water conservation to composting to solar ideas. If it's ok to post the link, I'd be happy to. Or anyone can just PM me.

I am so glad you liked the site! Thank you for checking it out. That is great that your office/building recycles so much. Kudos to Dianne for organizing that and you for being willing to see it through. I am surprised how many places don't recycle.

Yes, I met Maroon 5 in May of this year in San Antonio and was actually able to talk at length with two of them (Jesse, keyboards and James, lead guitar player). They were SO humble and kind. I tried my best not to be a fumbling idiot because I love their music so much. We talked a lot about life, the world, and things we do to contribute. Jesse really inspired me to want to make a difference. He has so much passion and compassion - he sort of reminds me of the John Lennon of our generation. He has been outspoken in getting people involved in different issues from the environment to voting. The band recycles while on tour and they also joined a group called REVERB (reverbrock.org/M5CC/about.htm) who helped them "green" their most recent summer tour. I think it was an extraordinary step they took (along with Counting Crows) to make people aware of ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

Again, I'm so glad you liked the site! The photo on the main page (flower) is one I took in Hawaii and the one on my welcome page is my kids in San Diego. I'm working on a logo right now as well as gathering ideas to make some short videos. I don't know exactly how I'm going to find time to do everything that I want to do, but I am seriously loving this little "project" of mine.
