Hey, I was wondering if you've ever corrected stahl's ear deformity. If you have, could you please explain how you go about correcting it and how successful the results tend to be. Thanks!

unfortunately, i have never corrected this deformity despite fixing a lot of unusual ear conditions. the way that i would propose to do it if i were to do it would be to cut the ridge out from behind leaving anterior skin intact so that cartilage and skin are removed from the back side or just cartilage alone, then take a straight piece of conceal cartilage and graft either it alone or as a composite with skin on the back side of the ear making sure that the cartilage is sutured into place a well. i would not do a star-plasty because i think the visible skin incision is perhaps too great a trade off. i would have to see it and you to decide if this is the right course of action. of course, we could do a phone consultation with your photos if you don't live in dallas.
