this is not critical. i usually want you to get a good night's sleep. although elevation can help a bit, it is offset by a bad's night rest so just sleep with a couple of pillows if you can't do the recliner reasonably. if not even that, sleep flat. it is no big deal. the key though is avoidance of a lot of salt and bending over (gardening, household work).
