Revision rhinoplasty

Postby sookawaii » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:32 am

Hi Dr.Lam,
I've recently got my nose done for the first time in Vietnam 2 months ago . Over all I can say that I'm happy with the shape but the only thing that I didn't like is that the doctor used the silicone implant and it felt a little heavy on my nose . I also don't like that it feel a lot harder than my old nose . Is there anyway I can take the silicone out and get something else that would help me retain this shape ? ( it doesn't have to be as high or perfect , I just want something that is relatively better than my original nose but still very very natural looking) . And I live outside of Texas , that mean I would have to travel for a consultation and as for right now , I am on a budget . Would you mind give me a quote on how much everything should cost? Thank you so much

yes, silicone implant can be removed typically pretty easily in the office. email marcy@lamfacialplastics.com for a quote. now understand that an injectable filler can be relatively inexpensive for the bridge but it does nothing for the tip. you need a more expensive procedure to fix that with an open rhinoplasty method to create tip definement using cartilage. in my opinion nothing else is safe for the tip other than that. i know that is complicated thing but make sure you make the right decision not just based on budget but safety and global aesthetic concerns.
best,

After the silicone is removed , would my tips look like a blob or even bigger ? truthfully I didn't care so much about my tips before , it was just my bridge was too low . And after the silicone is gone , how long do i have to wait before having anything else done?

since you just had the procedure done, your nose will probably look much more similar to the way it did before. the longer you wait the higher chance you will retain some of the new look but not all the way. but also you run the risk over time that the implant will cause pressure issues to the nasal tip cartilage and make it look more like a blob. i wish i could give you more of a precise answer but that is what i have observed.
