First, thank you so very much for the kind (but unnecessary) thank you card that you sent me. I was truly touched and moved to say the very least. (I hope that I am thinking of the right patient!?)
Most swelling after restylane and perlane is gone after the first week. Some may linger for another 1 week or so but that would be negligible.
Remember the difference between Restylane and Perlane versus fat is that there is very short lived swelling for the former compared with fat but also fat is pretty much permanent whereas you could lose Restylane and Perlane even after a few weeks (albeit unlikely).
Restylane and Perlane fillers performed around the eyes and jawline should last much longer than in the lips or in the smile lines. I have seen on average about 6 to 9 months. Of course, I have seen a few people hold it shorter with some loss after 3 months (but not all of it just some) and also I have seen people hold it for one year and more.
If you see a little fullness under the left eye that should not be there, please just make an appointment to see me. I can take care of that with some Vitrase, which dissolves a little of the Restylane within less than a day and without any real risk of bruising or swelling. There, of course, would be no charge for that, and I would be more than pleased to take care of you. I rarely see any unwanted fullness around the eyes, but when I do since I use 100% reversible products it is so very easy to take care of.
Best,
SML
