i think fraxel does not do enough in my opinion. i would say that for certain deeper pathologies, plasma probably will do very little too. treating acne scars is a nightmare to begin with. i get the best success with silicone micro but that is only to manage the deep craters. once they become relatively superficial, i then have limited options to take care of the problem. i am interested in using plasma but at the recommended settings (see point#2 below). i am curious for those who cite failure with plasma, i would ask these questions:
1. were the scars very deep? if so, plasma will most likely fail. plasma should be used to improve more superficial and shallow scars. (again, i have no idea whether it will do much for any scar. just think that it would do practically nothing for very deep ones.)
2. did the doctor do a double pass with the second setting at a full 4 J/cm2? that is the new recommended protocol for acne scars. i have not tried it yet so i don't know if it will do anything.
