Hi, I found your site while searching for info on Philtrum surgery. There is so little info up online...
I'm a trans woman (that is, I have a male body, and I am trying to correct that) and I am convinced that my main barrier for appearing conventionally female is my philtrum. It's too long, and perhaps too wide, and the ridge too pronounced.
When I pull up my lip a little in the mirror, I find it so much easier to see myself as female. I think this one small change would change my life so much.
But yes - what change? I'd like to know what sort of surgery I could get to improve my philtrum. I'm thinking it's the lip lift, but I did notice that you in particular discouraged this technique. I thought it would be worth listening to such a viewpoint as it's not what I'm likely to hear from many surgeons.
So is there an alternative to the lip lift? What can I do to shorten my philtrum and achieve a more female appearance?
