I think it started when I tried to woo some girls by learning how to skateboard as a young teen
Then I got totally into singing (probably the 4th musical instrument - played piano until grade 7, then clarinet and drums too). I didn't get in either but kept trying and trying and got into my high school's a cappella group eventually, and graduated as a co-director of the group. Loved it. Also got to tour Cali with a concert choir which was awesome. I have been trained by some awesome coaches including the late Seth Riggs, who trained Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder amongst ohters. My limitation is with my vocal range - stuck with higher notes, which unfortunately kind of erased a potential considertaion of it as a career.
All this kind of went dwon the drain when I started med school. But I then landed an ever cooler job, as a performance coach and dating coach. This meant I was getting paid to travel to meet people, and have done seminars at Fortune 1000 companies. I loved this too.
Writing this actually made me realise that if I were to choose a career, I probably want some element of this. I don't think I'll ever be a Tony Robbins, and I actually do still get nervous in front of an audience, but probably more excited. I've always been told to be a good communicator, so I suppose it'll be interesting to see what comes of it in the future
(time to dig up some old magic tricks now)
