Dear Dr. Lam, a friend told me about a seemingly less invasive way to tighten one's neck. Her doctor said he would do the incision only behind the ear, as opposed to a mini lift for which he would start the incision in front, or something to that effect. Can you do this? What is your opinion of it? My neck needs something short of a full lower lift.

I don't believe in pullback lifts anymore. My new book coming out next year is describing a short incision vertical suspension method that anchors the tissues to the lining of the bone in front of the ear. I believe that such a small incision behind the ear does not hold that well and over time relaxes quickly.
