Just need some advice on what possible treatments for my scars. The only thing ive considered is dermarolling/needling but i think my scars are too severe for that. :\

I still have not yet made my appt for silicone because I still have perlane in my cheek. It is a lump that donuted around my scar. I have been unsucessful trying to find someone to dissolve it. The Dr who injected it said to just wait because the dissolving agent could depress the surrounding tissue. Another PS stated something similar. I live in the upstate ny area. I know you trained ...

I'm not sure if this is the right category to post this question, but do you believe that long-term use of a benzoyl peroxide gel to control acne could speed up the skin's aging process? As a plastic surgeon, have you seen patients whose skin was prematurely aged possibly due to long-term BP use? I have been told different things by different dermatologists, and I've read that BP topicals can increase something called "free radicals" ...

Injected beneath my both cheeks muscle 2 years ago and whole area still hurts if I press on the injected spot .
Is this normal??? :cry:

I had a scar on on my cheek which was recently excised. The stitches were removed about 3 weeks ago. The new scar that I have now is fairly wide and slightly depressed.

1) Is there anything I can do to make this look better?
2) Laser treatments?
3) Fat Transplant?
4) Should I get this re-excised?
5) Can I wear some makeup over this in order to try to cover it ...

I understand that after a scar revision surgery, keeping compression on the wound and injecting 5-fu/steroids are two methods to help reduce scarring.

Now there are some claims on the Net that it is not good to apply compression on a wound that has already been injected with kenalog (no reason provided).

Is there any basis to such claims? And if so, what is the biological rationale behind it?

Is there a time limit as to when Restylane aor Perlane can be dissolved? I have a lump from some injections about 8 months ago. I was trying to wait it out but at this rate it is looking like it may take another year or so. Any downside to dissolving this far out - for example un even dissolving etc:?:

Dr Lam, do you have to inject fat in two places in order to place the transfer not only on the top part of the hands but also the knuckles and fingers, or because of your technique, does it only take one injection for each had to accomplish this. As a comment, you are right to call some other people who inject fat lay practioners rather than surgeons, in certain cases.

When I pull my skin taut, virtually all my acne scars disappear. Could some kind of face lift or skin tightening procedure improve the appearance of acne scars, at least the more superficial ones?
