as far as your questions, i always say that predict a longer recovery than you would otherwise predict. it may take several months to a year to look good. that is always a concern. it may stay red or darker for months. if you cannot take that risk, don't do it.
as far as # of visits are concerned, it is variable. that is why i only prefer to work on moles for people who live in Dallas. i typically see you a week after to remove sutures or evaluate how the wound is doing if there are no sutures. then 1 month to make sure that it has not turned darker red or thicker that would benefit from any laser or injection, then 3 months for the same reason or dermabrasion if it is well healed. if it is slightly depressed then a drop of silicone micro can help stabilize the area. then every 3 to 4 months until a year goes by. that is the typical timetable but obviously i could adjust it based on how you heal and your time constraints. hope that helps.
