Hi Dr. Lam,

What are you thoughts on dermaplanning? There is the light version, and then there is the more invasive one which invovles anethesia & uses the dermatone to skim off the area around a scar, which is the one I am referring to. Are you familiar with this at all?

my feeling is that it is almost useless for acne scarring. i used to do dermabrasion for acne scars and was completely disappointed. i only use dermabrasion for other problems like wrinkles and linear scars. it works great for that. if i failed that bad with full-on dermabrasion i can only imagine how little an effect dermaplaning would offer in that situation.
