I'm looking for a very subtle augmentation of my chin..maybe 2-3 mm. I want to go the injectable route and had a few questions...
Do you use Perlane or Radiesse? (I notice most doctors use Radiesse, but I thought I read you like to use Perlane)
I PREFER PERLANE BECAUSE IT IS REVERSIBLE AND ALSO CAN LAST AS LONG AS RADIESSE IN STATIC AREAS IN MY EXPERIENCE, LIKE THE CHIN.
How many syringes are needed for a 2mm change? Can one syringe do it?
JUST TO AUGMENT THE FRONT CHIN FOR A 2 MM CHANGE, YES ONE SYRINGE IS PROBABLY ENOUGH. IF YOU HAVE A BIG JOWL OR SOMETHING ELSE, THEN A 2ND SYRINGE MAY BE NEEDED. BASICALLY, THINK ONE SYRINGE.
How much input (if any) does a patient have on the shape of the chin during the procedure?
WELL, IF YOU WANT A CLEFT OR SOMETHING, I CAN SKIP THE CENTER. BEYOND THAT MAKING THINGS SQUARE OR WHAT NOT IS NOT THAT EASY WITH A FILLER BUT I CAN TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR SITUATION TO DECIDE MORE PRECISELY.
How much, if at all, can you mold the material once it's been injected?
I STILL CAN MOLD IT SOMEWHAT. NOT A LOT BUT SOME.
Does Perlane tend to last longer/shorter in the chin than other areas?
YES, IT SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN SAY THE SMILE LINES AND LIPS. TYPICALLY 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR AND A HALF. BUT OBVIOUSLY, IT COULD LAST MORE OR LESS TIME IN YOUR CASE.
Thank you!
