Dear Dr. Lan,

I have been reading about you on this site and watching you on youtube so I thought I would post a comment. I have been struggling with my nose since a very young age. It has a bump on the side and the tip droops. I am not sure if I want the tip done because although I hate it, when I lift it, it doesn't look right either and makes my lips look weird.

I am now considering surgery but I am worried I will regret it afterwards incase I feel fake. Ideally, I would like reassurance that you would only be removing something rather than chiselling and remodelling it completely. I hate people seeing me from the side and although I can feel attractive, I never feel satisfied because I hate my nose so much.

I am from the UK and I was wondering approximately, how much such procedures cost. Have you performed surgery on people of arabic/middle eastern descent?

Could I perhaps send you photos of me for an online consultation? Do you ever make trips to the UK?

obviously, i can do what concerns you and not do areas that you do not want done. sometimes a consultation will help establish some mutual goals. however, i would be happy to do a preliminary review using some photos that you can send to my private account drlam@lamfacialplastics.com. please understand that this quick review would not be a substitute for an in person consultation or phone consultation. however, perhaps it can be a good start.

the cost would be about 7800 including all facility charges etc. although i could be off by a few hundred. fortunately, the dollar is terrible right now, at least for you it is good. You can see some middle eastern photos among other noses in my before and after gallery. in general with my middle eastern patients i maintain a slightly higher bridge. i see too many persian noses, for example, that looked scooped out and don't fit their ethnicity.

Okay. Do you, however, ever make trips to the UK? I was reading that you lectured at seminars internationally. If so, could you perform surgery here?

I do not have any plans to make it to the UK for business or pleasure. Although I might be going to Madrid next year to lecture. That being said, I cannot operate in other countries since I do not have a license to practice medicine there. I can only do so in the State of Texas in the United States.
