If someone were to get permanent silicone filler to improve acne scars, is there any kind of activity that they would have to avoid in the future? Will the silicone be moved or damaged if the person is hit in the face, for example, or if they live in very cold or hot temperatures, etc? I read somewhere that people who ride motorcycles or who are around a lot of dust on a regular basis should avoid silicone fillers.

Also, would getting silicone fillers preclude someone from getting any kinds of surgery or treatment in the future... like a facelift? any kind of laser resurfacing? dermabrasian? subscision?

in my opinion there are no restrictions as you a suggesting.

Thank you for the response. On a somewhat related note, what happens if we get an acne breakout in the future? Could any kind of acne lesion disturb or be worsened by the silicone at all? Ideally it seems like we'd want to control active acne before embarking on scar correction, but from my experience it seems sometimes acne can often linger (even if it is mostly under control)... even after multiple rounds of accutane and many other treatments.

in general it is my belief that that should not be an issue. however, i do not like to perform permanent acne scarring corrections when someone is floridly still active in acne because i am treating a moving target with a permanent filler. if someone has only mild residual acne that is not in its terribly active state, then that is typically fine by me to treat then.
